A new TikTok online poker conspiracy is circulating the internet this week. Coming from, unsurprisingly, TikTok users. The current claim is that the popular online blackjack gambling site Roobet is using slaves as dealers. And casino dealers are fainting on camera.
And for this reason many were ready to quickly write this off. Or call it a stretch.
But I’m willing to dive down this one a little bit. Because to be honest it is all a bit strange…
Let’s check out video #1
TikTok Roobet Conspiracy Video 1
OK, a lot to unpack here clearly.
This is pretty much where the TikTok Roobet conspiracy starts. The weirdness/eeriness of this video.
I feel like it’s almost easier to make a list.
Reasons Why This Video Is Concerning
1. Why is she just randomly passing out on a live stream?
2. The employees that rush over, why does it look so routine? And why is the first priority to remove her away from the camera? No one cares about casino dealers
3. Why are the other employees not doing anything/acting like they are going to get in trouble? At any other call center you would expect fellow employees around to come over and help.
4. Why did they lift her up by the chair? Is it possible she was tied down to it?
So many questions, but before we go any further we may as well go ahead and show video #2
TikTok Roobet Conspiracy Video 2
Roobet is an online casino that is not available in the US according to TikTok commenters.
Roobet either kidnaps or buys human slaves (either in the form of human labor or sex trafficking) and in between their other duties they work for free behind the online casino camera.
Or they just work 20 hours a day as casino dealer video slaves.
Tiktok Roobet Conspiracy theorists point to two main factors to support their theory, users have joined online sessions to watch how long some of the dealers are on the table. Aside from random breaks where they are pulled away, they are usually on for about 18-20 hours straight.
Most users believe the falling asleep phenomenon is from either drugs administered by the kidnapper or sheer exhaustion.
Lauren Spierer Involved In The TikTok Roobet Conspiracy
A girl took to Twitter this weekend to point out a habit that Ben Shapiro appears to have. It appears Benny is a repeat offender of the “virgin hover hand”. Most guys out there remember that stage of their life. Likely happened at a middle school dance. Or maybe you’re still doing it. Who knows.
Either way, girls are attacking poor Ben again. This time it’s not about being able to get his wife in the mood. It’s his repeated habit of the virgin hover hand.
The virgin hover hand has been around since the Victorian era. And guys who assume that no one wants to be touched by them, well, they stay in the virgin hover hand phase a little longer.
Why Does Ben Shapiro Always Go With The Virgin Hover Hand?
There are three realistic possiblities as to why Ben is always defaulting to the hover hand.
Ben Shapiro was a virgin until he was at least 24 years old.
And then after that he (according to him at least) has not been with anyone other than his wife.
If that is true than maybe it is possible that he never fully got out of that “girls have cooties” phase.
2. Ben Ain’t Tryna Catch An Allegation
Call Ben Shapiro what you want, but the guy is pretty smart.
I mean he went to Harvard and he like never stutters.
He knows to the left he is pretty much the devil. And he knows that any sort of allegation of an inappropriate scandal or act would spread like wild fire through liberal media if there was even an ounce of truth behind it. It’s very possible Ben has taken a hard virgin hover hand lifestyle. In protection of himself, his family, and most importantly, his money.
3. Religion
How Jewish is Ben?
I mean he wears a Yamaca. But there are some sects of Judaism that don’t allow a man to even look a woman in the eye.
If he is closer to that side of Judaism than it makes sense why he doesn’t even want to touch girls arms.
Most Importantly, Shout Out To Bernie For Being Declared The New Political Chad On Twitter
The Andrew Cuomo investigation has taken up valuable time for far too long.
Let’s pretend for just a minute that these allegations are false. Based on the specific details of the story I’m more than inclined to believe they are absolutely true. BUT for arguments sake right now let’s pretend we believe Cuomo.
That it’s all hearsay. And it’s just women looking for political gain or whatever his excuse this week is. Here’s the thing, it’s irrelevant. The real reason Cuomo needs to resign is that New York deserves better.
Well, maybe we don’t deserve it. But we definitely need it.
After locking down the city last year we had a record number of New Yorkers on unemployment. Which is understandable. The governor and mayor both said stay inside. This left bartenders and other skilled laborers in absolute panic.
During this time while unemployment claims were through the roof, NY state and NYC depleted their emergency funds. In the end, New York State borrowed a total of $10 Billion to cover unemployment costs.
Cherry on top? That $10 Billion was borrowed at an annual interest rate of around 2.5%. – Source
2.5% of $10 Billion is $250 Million. The state and city are in a huge financial hole.
How will they get out of it? Go after the middle class of course.
Higher tolls, MTA fare spikes, more parking rules. It’s always the same strategy. And of course we’ll be paying for this whole Andrew Cuomo investigation as well.
Even since the city re-opened, NYPD stats still show that armed robberies and grand larceneies are up over 30% from this time last year. Which means those numbers are up about 50% from 2019.
Murder, shootings, and other violent crimes are not too far behind.
Brooklyn on it’s own has become borderline lawless. The Andrew Cuomo investigation is not heping. There are certain neighborhoods in Brooklyn that per capita, have almost double the violent crime seen in Chicago, Detroit, and LA combined.
New York Needs A Governor Focused On The City, Not Defending Themselves
When people say it’s reminding them of the “old days”, they wish they were kidding.
In fact, it got so bad that our beloved Governor took power away from Mayor de Blasio (which is probably for the best that man shouldn’t even be allowed to be on TV), and then was the first to declare the situation in New York a gun problem that required National help and assistance.
Here was his quote when he plead to the feds to help him “make NYC better than ever before.”
“We’re building New York back better than ever before, but part of rebuilding is addressing the systemic injustices that were exposed by COVID. If you look at the recent numbers, more people are now dying from gun violence and crime than COVID – this is a national problem but someone has to step up and address this problem because our future depends on it,” Governor Cuomo said.
“Just like we did with COVID, New York is going to lead the nation once again with a comprehensive approach to combating and preventing gun violence, and our first step is acknowledging the problem with a first-in-the-nation disaster emergency on gun violence. When we see an injustice we don’t look the other way, we stand up and fight it because that’s the New York way.” – Source
OK… a little bit to unpack here. He even says himself more people are dying from gun violence than Covid. Why is the gun violence emerging? Because people are locked down. To protect them from Covid…
So then after admitting that the violence from the lockdown is now worse than the pandemic effects he was trying to avoid, he goes on to say “once again” New York will lead the nation.
By lead the nation do you mean lead New Jersey and Governor Murphy? Because everyone else was pretty hung up on the nursing home deaths and I can say for sure the Governors of Florida, Texas, Georgia, and many others were absolutely NOT following your lead. Mostly because you lied about a bunch of elderly deaths, but New York was top 3 highest case and death count. Who would take advice from you?
Let’s get back to the main point here.
The Real Reason Cuomo Needs To Resign – Andrew Cuomo Investigation
So OK fine, Cuomo won’t admit any wrong doing when it comes to handling Covid.
And he won’t admit any wrong doing in terms of the current Andrew Cuomo Investigation.
But he has more than admitted the city is in trouble. Both socially and economically. So if Cuomo actually gave two shits about this city he would step down?
Why?
Because we don’t have time to hear you defend yourself against allegations we know are true.
We all saw your stupid tape, your stupid report, we saw you out a female who wanted to remain anonymous.
But what REALLY bothered me, and what should bother everyone, is that this man clearly took 4 days out of the work week (during a time that he himself claims is a crisis), to put all energy and focus into making a terrible video trying to defend himself against claims that are obviously true.
Is that what New York needs right now? Do you think that’s important right now Cuomo? Using tax dollars to shame a woman who you abused BY NAME and then have the audacity to say you understand because you have “female in your family that went through the same thing”. But Cuomo didn’t use her name. So clearly he does not get it.
So the real reason Cuomo needs to step down is because he has created a freakin’ circus and now we’re wasting time with the AG in kangaroo court of he said she saids about whether Cuomo touched a female trooper in an elevator.
Andrew Cuomo, If you cared about the state and city in the slightest you would understand that what you are doing is not only distracting us from pertinent issues, but they are being escalated when they are ignored.
We know you love power Cuomo. (And have quite the ego after re-naming the TZ bridge to your families mob-tied name). But it’s over. You’re not winning presidency. Ever.
We have made our decision on the Andrew Cuomo investigation.
So if Cuomo really cares about New York, then the real reason he resigns should not be about the allegations. But rather that the allegations are a distraction. Step away. Make your dumb YouTube videos in your own time, and let Albany get back to work.
Andrew Cuomo you have killed enough grandmothers and touched enough interns. Most New York governors only get to do a fraction of the evil stuff you got away with. AND got an Emmy for all of it.
Central Florida resident Rony Otoniel Mendez, 26 years old, has been sentenced to life in prison for raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl.
“The Ledger reports that 26-year-old Rony Otoniel Mendez was sentenced Wednesday after a jury found him guilty of three counts of sexual battery on a child under 12 and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child.
Authorities say Mendez first had sex with the girl in October 2013 and then two more times after that. The girl reported the assaults in November 2014 after she learned she was pregnant. She gave birth to a daughter in May 2015, and DNA tests confirmed the child was fathered by Mendez.” – Fox News
Rony Otoniel Mendez is of Guatemalan descent. Commentators on the incident have noted the tendency of adult-children relationships in Guatemalan culture. Some even go as far to say it is common practice for adult males in Guatemala to prey upon girls as young as 9-12 years old.
/U/ProjectManagerAMA shared an anecdote on Reddit today after the story initially broke:
The young girl gave birth to the baby in May 2015. DNA tests confirmed that the child belonged to Rony Otoniel Mendez.
Mendez fled to Guatemala shortly after the allegations were made. He was swiftly extradited back to the states and arrested.
UPDATE, 9:27 PM, 7/29: de Blasio has mandated all city workers provide proof of vaccination or face termination.
UPDATE, 10:03 PM, 7/29: In a last effort to avoid another NYC lockdown, de Blasio is now offering cash ($100) to NYC residents who make an appointment tomorrow (Friday) for a vaccination. – Source
“Given the un-expected spikes in the delta strain across NYC, Upstate New York, and Hudson County NJ, we expect the numbers on Monday to be close to an all-time high.
It is important that we initiate a city wide lockdown before summer is through, preferably before August, if we want any chance of lowering this spread before we spike again in September to an astronomical number of cases and again load our hospitals up.”
The delta variant has been found in over 57% of NYC positive samples this weekend alone- Source
Governor Cuomo has come out to plead with New Yorkers to get the vaccine. As it will be the only way to avoid a NYC lockdown.
“With every unvaccinated person in our state, in our nation, comes an opportunity for the COVID virus to mutate. The vaccine is the best weapon we have against this beast, and if you haven’t already, I encourage you to get your shot,” Cuomo said.
“New Yorkers have proven themselves tough, and the vaccine has proven itself effective. Protect yourself and your loved ones and get vaccinated today.” – Source
This strain has been described as the biggest threat to the American public since the beginning of the pandemic.
Mayor Bill de Blasio is pushing for more vaccines to get out as well. Now offering free in-home visits.
But if vaccination rates aren’t at 80% or above by August 1st, New Yorkers should prepare for another NYC lockdown.
“In-home vaccinations are now available to all New York City residents, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday, marking the latest push to make immunization more convenient as the prevalence of the delta variant rises stokes new concerns.” – Source
As of this writing the vaccination rate in NYC is at around 56%. It is highly unlikely we will be reaching 80% by the end of the month. So we can expect the NYC August lockdown.
What To Expect For The NYC Lockdown In August
NYC residents can expect the same restrictions that were put in place during the last NYC lockdown.
All non-essential businesses will be closed.
Mask mandates will be reenacted as well as the 10pm curfew. There will be a pause on both indoor and outdoor dining however takeout and delivery will still be an option.
NYC officials and the NYPD are already aware of the extra challenges they will face this time around.
The NYPD expects less compliance with the NYC lockdown measures this time around.
“It’s summer in New York City. People want to be outside. But on top of that, people are getting a little annoyed by this. Especially those who have already been vaccinated”
That last point is a big one. There were expectations by some who followed all of the protocols. One of those expectations was to be living in a city free of restrictions.
What To Do To Prepare For The NYC Lockdown
Sources from Today’s Five don’t expect news of the lockdown to be released before next Friday. That means there is still a week to beat the mad dash to the grocery store that is sure to follow.
Still, there is no reason to panic buy. Just ensure you have the essentials.
Gallons of Water
Paper Towels/Toilet Paper
Canned Food
Ensure You Have Proper Cooling (Preparation ie. Extra Fan Incase Air Conditioner Breaks, etc.)
How Long Will The NYC Lockdown Last?
The lockdown, like the past two, has no definitive timeline.
NYC officials have assured our sources that although a NYC lockdown for August is not ideal (for many reasons), it is the only way to ensure the city is safe when the colder months arrive.
A Global Influence
It’s clear that government officials around the world, including NYC, are seeing the death and case tolls rise in Australia and New Zealand.
Officials like de Blasio and Cuomo want to get ahead of things. And initiate similar lockdowns to Australia and New Zealand before things get rampant and it is too late.
“New Zealand is shutting down the quarantine-free travel bubble with Australia for two months, as the country grapples with a number of serious outbreaks of Covid-19.
The country had already paused travel with the states of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The new pause applies to all of Australia for the next eight weeks. At a press briefing on Friday, prime minister Jacinda Ardern said because of the Delta variant there was “greater risk now … than when we opened the travel bubble”. – Source
Even 8 months after the election, it seems there are still Trump supporters who refuse to let go. But what are they hanging on to? A study led by New York City Psychologist Dr. Susan Kolod has come to one conclusion. By a large percentage, Trump supporters have daddy issues. Or unresolved feelings with their fathers. This goes for both men and women.
“Susan Kolod, a psychologist in New York who specializes in relationships and sexuality, has a theory about why so many women voted for Trump. It all goes back to what they look for — and how they act — in romantic relationships.
“In my experience, there are a lot of women [my friends and patients] who are very successful, assertive, competent.
And around their spouses, they become obsequious and dependent,” Kolod said in a phone interview this week. “It’s not just married people; singles, too. There’s still a wish to be taken care of.” – Source
Kolod’s findings contain an important notion. “There’s still a wish to be taken care of”.
We all have heard of women who have had absent or distant fathers seek out the approval of men. Or have a warped idea on what manliness truly is.
According to Kolod, the same applies to men.
If a man or young male had an absent or distant father, they too will seek out approval or mentorship from some other source as a father figure.
His outrageous claims of keeping everyone safe, doing what he wanted, and getting away with everything.
This is what the demographic of people with daddy issues see as “manly”.
And so when they see Trump rant on TV they feel safe. They feel secure. And most of all, they feel acknowledged.
Susan goes on to say
“Trump is a “familiar” image of a president because he’s a man — and even more so because of the type of man he is.
“Trump comes across as a very phallic male,” Kolod says. When he brags about being able to do whatever he wants to with women, Kolod says, it creates a powerful image that resonates with some women.
“There’s this sense of: He can do anything; he can get away with it. That’s the kind of guy who can protect us.” – Source
Kolod’s evidence doesn’t just start and end with theories and concepts.
She had on the ground research from actual Trump supports who basically called him daddy on camera.
Common Trump Supporters Have Daddy Issues
“Donald Trump is the “strict dad” that America needs, said a 56-year-old emergency-room nurse last week at a rally in Melbourne, Fla.
“He’s the kind of man you would want to be your dad,” a Los Angeles Trump supporter, whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant, said in July.
(If these aren’t Trump supporters don’t have daddy issues then I’m out of answers)
“He’s the father figure I always wanted,” a hairstylist told the Boston Globe in December. “I feel like he’s protecting me.”
“Trump reminds me so much of my father,” Jerry Falwell Jr. told Fox News” – Source
As you can see, it is men and woman alike who have fallen for this concept of seeing Trump as their “daddy”.
And it’s also pretty obvious that these Trump supporters have daddy issues. Why does America need a “strict Dad”? That’s just weird and slightly disturbing.
What’s even more interesting, is that this could have been Trumps plan all along. Pray on all the men and women who have a gapping hole and need for a father figure in their life.
“Donald Trump’s employees view him as a “patriarch” more than a boss, Trump Organization Executive Vice President Michael Cohen told the Jewish Chronicle Online.
And yet the Trump children and Chelsea Clinton are routinely deployed to remind voters that their parents are, in fact, parents. “Yes, Donald Trump is my father,” the Trumplings imply as they praise him, “and he can be yours, too.” – Source
The fact that so many people who voted for Trump without realizing their true motivations is even further proof that most Trump supports have daddy issues.
It would also explain why the Republican party was so divided. And why so many liberals went to vote for him even after voting for Obama.
“Breitbart’s Milo Yiannopoulos has, in fact, taken to calling Trump “daddy.” Jamiel Shaw, Sr., the father of a high school student killed by an illegal immigrant, told CNN that he thinks of Trump “as a father figure” even though the two are similar in age.
“He’s the kind of man you would want to be your dad,” Shaw said. “He’s the father figure I always wanted,” supporter Catherine Leafe told the Boston Globe. “I feel like he’s protecting me.” NationalReview article
That was during the campaign.
This disgusting and deranged devotion takes an even more perverse identity now that we are half a year into his presidency.
However creepy it might be to vote for someone cause you want them to be your daddy, is one thing.
What happens though, if this daddy figure turns out to reject you? What happens when all of those endearing promises are broken?” – Source
“SMOKERS WHO WANT TO SURVIVE CORONAVIRUS SHOULD “100 PERCENT” QUIT, EXPERTS SAY” – Inverse
It was already common knowledge that smokers and vapers were at a higher risk of complications if they contracted Coronavirus. Still, experts did not expect this magnitude of respiratory deaths caused by Coronavirus among young individuals in the United States. Is Coronavirus more dangerous to Juul users? It appears to be. Now officials are finding that specifically the use of Juul is leading to many unnecessary deaths in young individuals.
Southern States in particular were perplexed by the large amount of deaths occurring in young adults and teens (ages 16-24). A demographic that normally would have a high recovery rate for a virus that is expected to be most deadly to the 65+ demographic.
States with low rates of new cases have been largely ignored by National efforts on research in regards to who is most at risk and what locations are at a higher risk.
It wasn’t until recently that Dr. Joanna Cohen of Johns Hopkins School of Public Health decided to look into what appeared to be an anomaly.
The answer she found was glaringly obvious. And the answer wasn’t just e-cigarettes, it was Juul specifically.
The three states with the highest fatality rate of individuals aged 16-24 are Kentucky, Tennessee and Oklahoma. These three states are also the states with the highest percentage of Juul users. And as expected, a very high amount of Juul users are in the demographic of 16-24.
With such conflicting data it makes sense that it took health officials a little bit of time to understand why the demographic of 16-24 year-olds were facing a higher amount of Coronavirus fatalities than the CDC had predicted. National Health Officials and the CDC focused on the three states with rapid onset deaths. New York, New Jersey, and Michigan. After evaluating these high risk areas they came to the conclusion that the biggest risk was being over the age of 65, the second biggest risk was having an underlying medical condition. Lung disease or poor lung health was the biggest focus in terms of under-lying medical conditions.
But as the fatality rate of young individuals continued to skyrocket in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, State Officials began to launch their own investigation. They found that among those effected by Coronavirus, including all age groups, those who reported using Juul or e-cigarrettes had an extremely alarming fatality rate of 68%.
“Our findings undoubtedly shed light on how much effect these e-cigarettes have on those who have contracted COVID-19,” Explained the Kentucky Board of Health in their final report, “it should be clarified however that this large fatality rate also includes e-cigarette users that are 50 years of age or older. This is alarming but we believe it is important to make it clear the fatality rate is not at 68% for those aged 16-24, it is 68% for all e-cigarette users. That being said, the conclusion of our findings certainly gives us a strong theory as to why our state is experiencing higher deaths among young individuals than the rest of the country.”
Dr. Joanna Cohen, of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, agrees:
“We know through the deaths and severe respiratory illnesses that we had this summer that there’s certainly lung injury happening to vapers,” she told CBS News. “And if your lungs are injured, obviously they’re going to have a more difficult time dealing with other challenges.”
“Those who use electronic cigarettes are putting themselves in a position that when they catch COVID-19, they’re likely to have more dire consequences than those that do not use electronic cigarettes.” – Source
It was 1999 when Scott Falater was convicted to a life sentence (rightfully so) for brutally murdering his wife in the middle of the night. Falater used “sleep walking” as a self defense. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work out.
So why are we talking about Scott Falater 20 years later?
But I think there is a deeper reason. If you believe Scott Falater and his tale of nightly dream state murder rampage, then you may be concerned it could happen to you.
Rest assured, Scott Falater is a liar. This won’t happen to you. (At Least the second part won’t).
I’ll admit it, in the beginning it was pretty convincing.
The man had sleep walking in his past. His sister said that he pushed her once when he was sleeping. Who knows if this is true or not.
Listen it’s a weird story. And one that makes you think it’s complex and can’t be understood. That’s what Scott Falater and his team aimed to do. Free Falater by decision of uncertainty. Maybe he’s not crazy? Maybe he did dream the whole thing?
Don’t fall for their smokescreen. It’s a lot more simple than the defense team made it out to be.
Go with Occam’s razor on this one.
Is it possible in his sleep he stabbed his wife 44 times? And just happened to use a deadly hunting knife he located in another room? Maybe. Probably not. But maybe.
It’s pretty obvious what happened here guys, IF you want to believe the sleep walking theory.
If Falater was sleep walking, it definitely ended after the stabbing.
Now Falater is a smart guy. But of course anyone in this situation would panic.
His first decision is to drown her so she stops making noises. (True love right there).
Once she is actually out cold it sets in for Falater. He just killed his wife. Kind of accidentally, but then definitely on purpose.
So he goes into CSI criminal mode. This is where the case is blown open. He’s lost the jury. As he should.
Boxing up her clothing, neatly packing it away with the weapon in a separate container. I think it’s pretty obvious if you take a step back here.
Scott Falater possibly woke up to himself stabbing his wife. Maybe it was the craziest most unfortunate thing to ever actually happen and he really stabbed the love of his life 44 times without trying. (FYI if someone stabs someone 44 times, it is deemed a crime of passion).
Fine, let’s pretend that’s true. There is no way he slept walk through all 248 motions that the prosecution’s sleep expert presented to him.
Instead the more obvious answer started to come to mind.
What if this super smart guy Scott Falter did actually stab his wife 44 times in his sleep, and hen figured he could half clean things up, and then claim it was all sleep walking.
Scott Falater took the stand and briefly won half the jury over. But it was on the same sentiment that he always followed. “It’s too complex for you to understand.”
In fact, when he was convicted, he mainly put what he called a “low IQ jury” at blame.
Even if Falater didn’t initially stab his wife in full consciousness. He certainly was fully conscious when he finished the job.
Argue whether that counts as murder if you want, but at the very least Scott Falater is leaving out details. And for that reason, we keep him behind bars.
I have been out of Seattle for almost a year now. But I have heard whispers of a feud in the restaurant world. And the subject of debate? None other than our beloved Catfish Corner. Apparently now there is two. And all of Seattle is confused as to which is the real Catfish Corner. I’m setting out to do just that.
Off the bat I knew I would be a little biased here. When I left the Seattle area this was the original Catfish Corner location.
But I did not expect this kind of welcoming.
The store was fairly crowded, a lot of activity in the parking lot. All good energy.
Inside I was greeted loudly by a man who asked what I needed and was ready to explain anything on the menu for me. I of course knew exactly what I was getting.
Food came out fast. Like FAST. I mean under 3 minutes.
It was absolutely incredible. The fried catfish was just as amazing as I remembered. The tartar sauce, corn bread, hush puppies, all of it just as great as it always was. (Seriously, they have the best hush puppies in Seattle).
They also had a bunch of new stuff too like the lobster mac and cheese and calamari. I couldn’t resist trying those two. Both were incredible.
Burgers were on the menu too but that will have to wait until next time.
First of all, the logo is different. Second, the comfortable welcoming feeling that you get at Catfish Corner will NOT be found here.
Walking in felt like going into a Chipotle, it was almost factory looking. There was no one in the store when I arrived but immediately it felt like everyone was trying to ignore me.
It felt oddly unwelcoming and to be honest the whole restaurant gave me a weird feeling.
If it wasn’t for this blog post I wanted to write I probably would have left. I walked up to the counter where I was rudely asked “what I want”. I got catfish and was unapologetically told they were out of corn bread, hush puppies, and tartar sauce. They were really pushing prawns on me (which I don’t like) but they wouldn’t stop insisting so I got an order of those too.
Out of nowhere a guy comes from the back and starts shouting and everyone individually by name. But then one of the employees shouted back about not getting paid yet. It was awkward. But unfortunately the employee being yelled at was my cashier. So I was forced to wait this screaming match out.
Eventually (who I now assumed was the manager) told the employee to take care of me, to that the employee quit. This was quite the experience for me let me tell you.
The manager then came over and apologized and took my credit card finally.
I was very weirded out by the whole experience and the atmosphere of the restaurant. My dry fish was OK. It was a little moist on one end. With tartar sauce could have been a 7/10 but without it was probably a 5/10.
I’m pretty sure this must be the one with the original owners. Either way it’s the one that still has the comforting feel I remembered and the food is way better. (To be fair Jackson’s was out of everything so maybe not a fair test?)
After the El Salvador announcement we can expect Dogecoin to explode in the next few days. Likely spiking on Wednesday. But will it hit a $1 and allow everyone to recoup? There is a few reasons to have some hope.
1. Crypto Acceptance Is Growing
Crypto in general had a big win over the weekend.
El Salvador passed a bill allowing Bitcoin to be used as legal tender.
It’s no secret the effects that good news for Bitcoin tends to be good news for crypto in general.
“As of 3:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, the virtual currency was trading at $36,849 per coin, jumping about 7.9% over the last 24 hours, according to CoinDesk.
Salvadorian lawmakers made history on Wednesday by approving a proposal from President Nayib Bukele that would allow bitcoin (XBT) to be used as a form of legal tender in the country, alongside the US dollar.
The law states that “all economic agents shall accept bitcoin as a form of payment when it is offered by the purchaser of a good or service.” It also says that tax payments can now be made in bitcoin.”– Source
And now there are people actually racing to buy Dogecoin in El Salvador.
News of the high-demand for Dogecoin overseas caused a spike in the value of the crypto.
Bitcoin and other popular digital currencies, including Ethereum and Dogecoin, all rose on Wednesday according to the tracking site Coindesk. Bitcoin, which climbed above $60,000 early this year, was up 10% to $36,050. – Source
2. Jack Dorsey And Elon Musk Basically Confirmed It
When Elon Musk talks about Dogecoin, you listed.
His cryptic video about Dogecoin having no true limit made people millionaires over night.
“Now, Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey, a long-time bitcoin-backer, has revealed it’s “only a matter of time” before either Twitter or its fledgling decentralized social network project Bluesky integrates bitcoin payments—and has replaced Elon Musk as bitcoin’s new billionaire champion.” – Source
Dogecoin demand in El Salvador is turning heads everywhere.
Elon Musk may be a bit of a loose cannon but Jack Dorsey is someone we can all trust.
3. Rumors Dave Portnoy May Be Getting In Soon
Made to look like a fool as the self proclaimed “Warren Buffet” of our generation told everyone that Dogecoin was a joke of a stock and destined to fail.
That stock ended up going from under less than a penny to over a dollar.
Astronomical growth.
There are talks that Portnoy is ready to lick his wounds, accept his mistakes, and get his followers back on the Dogecoin train. Plus we all know Portnoy loves El Salvador. Dogecoin would be his perfect endorsement now.
